In case anyone in North Carolina can help, please contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Below is what they sent to us:
I was hoping that you may be able to help with an urgent Boxer who is currently at the Davidson County Animal Shelter, NC. Her name is "Remi. Short for Remington. She was brought to the shelter recovering from gunshot wounds. She was adopted out approximately a year ago and was brought back to the shelter at the end of last year. Their reason was a new baby in the house. Remi didn't want to share. She was again adopted out to a family who discovered she has severe seperation anxiety. Dr. Hedrick was the diagnosing vet. The new family tried several therapies to remedy this but they have had to practically remodel their home due to the distruction from Remi. Remi destroys any crate she is left in unattended. They praised her great nature as long as she is supervised. If you look at the pic you can see the scars in her hip. This dog really needs someone who can devote expertise and time to her. Remi is at the end of what the shelter has to offer. We can't in good faith let her go to another family knowing her history. We can let her go to a rescue or other professional who can address her issues so she can live a happy life. She doesn't do anything at the shelter that is destructive but it's hard to damage chain link and concrete. She's a sweet dog. I need another "Patron Saint of Lost Causes" to come to the rescue." This is a gassing shelter, and Remi is sweetie, I think she just needs some exercise and someone who understands her breed. I have pics that I can send you, just send me email and I will forward them to you. Thank you!
