Hey everyone. O/T here but every year people buy pets for their family an kids around Christmas. If you can or know a family looking, adopt one. Check around for a KILL shelter first. They have some great pets that get put down daily. More purebreds than you would think and most will come updated with all shots, fixed, an microchipped.
The way I look at it, if you have the chance to adopt. 1. A non-kill shelter, the animals are safe anyway. 2. A kill shelter the animals need more homes to get out to before they overstay the time and are euthanized.
Go in to the shelter and ask someone which are on the E list or EBI list. Most shelters also need fosters which is also a good way to find a match to the right pet without commitment. Fostering is usually free and any medical care needed is often covered.
