What your opininon?

I think as long as the range can be up around 250 to 300 miles and you have decent acceleration then I would be interested. Porsche is coming out with one later this year I think, and it looks amazing. The battery technology on it is amazing. I wouldn't buy a Tesla since there aren't enough charging stations in my area and I don't like the idea of so very few places to have it serviced.

I didn't watch the whole video, but the Audi on there looked good and it would be more affordable than the Porsche. Here in the US they are still giving a nice tax break on these electric cars.

Yeah, too much trouble if that's the case.

One thing ive always wondered and would love to get all your guys opinions on this.
If they are doing this in order reduce pollution via exaust gasses etc.
What affect will the massive increase in electric consumption used to charge these cars have on the environment?
Its not as if the countries are putting so much money into greener energy production. They energy firms are still big government funders and for them they will be making trillions.
This will only work in my opinion if they use better methods of generating energy. Sorry for the not so good grammar english not my first languages.

Yes, that's the thing many in the government tend to avoid talking about. I saw a great breakdown comparison of the carbon footprint produced by burning petrol vs electric. From what I saw, there is less carbon produced when going electric, but it isn't ground breaking. The cost now of all electric cars is still too high and batteries too heavy for the masses to demand them. Once the weight of the cars gets down more as well as the cost we will have more owners. Lower weight is important for increasing fuel economy and handling.

I think europe gets more of their energy from green sources, coal is still the major all over the world. The world now seems to want to get rid of nuclear power and that really works against things. IMO nuclear is important in the quest to get off of fossil fuels.

Some good comments in here. https://www.quora.com/How-does-the-...ric-vehicle-compare-to-a-fuel-powered-vehicle

You have to take into consideration how much carbon is produced when the car is manufactured and apparently making the batteries produces a lot of CO2. Getting the weight down on those batteries is probably the biggest thing that can be done now to make things better, battery technology would be a great field for a young person to get into in college as an engineer
