Kindle question

Really considering an e-reader because I have just way too many books lying around and need the space

is kindle mainly mainstream books though or is it a pretty endless library? Most of the stuff I read is less popular history, political, religious history etc texts and I just want to make sure I'll have a wide enough access to anything I could find in a book store.

Covers pretty much everything, great to load up on a dozen or so books then go on holiday without a seperate bag for a library!
