It has become a common practice to opt Ayurveda for arthritis treatment when other forms of medicine have failed. But, many have failed to speculate the range and power of this time tested medical system that has become a part and parcel of Kerala for centuries. ‘Vata dosha’ is attributed to this condition and according to Ayurveda improper digestion as a result of improper eating habits and lack of physical activities to digest the consumed food are all causative factors. Also in this type of approach would it be prudent i think to make a mixture of Turmeric powder in an equal proportion to a 99% pure DMSO gel and massage it into the arthritic area and maybe wrap it in Saran Wrap so as not to stain anything you touch? since we know DMSO carries anything you add to it through the skin, and Turmeric is a fantastic anti-inflammatory as we know, and DMSO in itself is a wonder for such things as muscle injuries, tendon injuries, and arthritis? worth looking into...IMHO
