Why are red potatoes becoming more popular in BB diets?

I am starting to see a lot more guys incorporating red potatoes into their meals than I ever noticed before. What could be the reasons for this?
 
Change of pace and/or food allergies. If you eat the same stuff over and over your body starts reacting to it differently in SOME cases. To me red potato and white potato digest way better than sweet potato or yam anyways
 
I hired an IFBB pro for a prep once and he had me eat red, white, and sweet potato's. He was a Hany guy, and his reasoning was just that the different types had different GI ratings. Honestly I prefer them to white potato's and they are easier to cook, could be that simple.
 
The nutrient content of the red and white potato are generally similar, but the red potato is less starchy and more "waxy." However, it is said that the darker the veggie, the better because the skin is where most of the nutrients are, so when you peel the skin off a red potato, you are losing most of the nutrients.

Red skin are lower GI than most white potatoes... closer to a sweet potato.
 
I digest potatoes better than i do rice , no stomach bloat or gas.

I boil all my red potates in crawfish boil (mushroom and cauliflower too) so they have a nice spicey flavor. i've also boiled them regually then mashed up (skin and all) added a dolop of greek yogurt and a dash of dry ranch seasoning to make sort of a "potato salad" flavor
 
Yep, like stated above. red potatoes are considered a waxy potatoe and therefore have a lower gi and digest slower. They also contain more vitamins due to the red coloration of the skin
 
I cut up red pototoes and mix it with chicken breast and boiled egg and hear it up with coconut oil
 
been a staple on my preps from back to mid 2000's. Didn't know they were more popular now than any other time
