all of use who train and come on PRO M pretty much follows a simple diet

Lean steaks, chicken , sweet potatoes, oats, eggs, eggwhites, whey (some form) , cottage cheese, avocados, nuts (all kinds) omega 3 oils, bcaas, rice(w.e kind)

And out of all these foods we try to get a mixture or balance of things we like

For me I usually eat inside round, tilapia, broccoli, sweet potatoes, oats, peppers, mushrooms onions, chicken breast eggwhites, spinach , whey isolate


^^^ those are my staples eaten regularly

Well one week my sister who is vegetarian told me to try to switch and eat her way for a week

Food list vegetables, avocado, nuts, cottage cheese, beans (black and kidney) lentils, and I tried this liquid BCAA formula I get when I have extra cash its just EAAS ,, still ate oats and sweet potatoes and eggwhites , whey isolate, and alot more fish , salmon, cod, red snapper,

Result gained 10 lbs.... how did it happen all macros were pretty much the same except alittle higher fat then i normally eat but all from healthy sources but totally different protein sources,,


So my question is do you think one could progress more if they switched there food choices on a weekly basis

wk 1 Chicken , fish, egg whites

wk2 steak, eggs, pork

wk3 turkey , cottage cheese, milk
 
I think your on to something man. I started bulkin bout 2 months ago and only gained a few pouinds so i didnt add foods i just changed them went from fish cottage cheese chicken to wheat bagels steak peanut butter almonds. Then i gained few more pounds, but i kept usin it and eventually lost 7 pounds just suddenly the i started the foods i was on before and im gaining agian so it wasnt adding more foods i was just changing foods. I think i get tired of eating the same so i start eating less of it more tired of it i get and i dont even realize it but when you switch foods your not tired of it so you can eat tons of it. So for me its not scientific its just a mental thing.
 
I think the point about variety leading to eating more quantity is definitely valid. The other factors could be that added variety might be filling a need for micronutrients that's missing from eating the same foods over & over.

It was probably all of the fish. Add more fish into your regular diet

Have you guys ever tried Dry Curd Cottage Cheese? 20g protein per serving and no fat or carbs...
 
Agreed. Eggwhites and fish are the "best" protein sources to pack on lean muscle.

But it was only a week. no one gains 10lbs lean muscle in one week no matter what they eat.
Probably the rapid change in diet made you retain some water?
I really don't know :confused:
 
Milos Sarcev had a video regarding nutrition that I watched years ago... In it he cycled his protein sources from meal to meal... and the reason why, he said, was that your body becomes allergic to food after eating the same thing day in and day out.... I rejected it at first glance but it always stuck in the back of my head. Maybe he was right?

Anyone know anything more?
