I have a problem when i do bench presses and mainly on incline bench press , my triceps tend to give out before my chest does. I was told by a friend to build stronger triceps and to do flyes first . any help

If your triceps are failing and you want to gain mass and strength for them, then do some heavy tricep work with adequate food so that they can improve.

On the other hand, it could be that your triceps are doing all of the work, in which case you actually have a weak chest or shoulders. So you should gauge how your presses are in general and then work on bringing up weak links.

widen your grip a little when doing presses it will stress the pecs more...use more dumbells for presses as well...

im a "delt bencher" i used to push with my delts a lot before...alex

Bumping both responses, sounds like your triceps are bit underworked. If you are getting the shakes in your arms(tri's giving out) when benching don't feel bad. It's the muscles getting used to the stress load. They will go away once all of your muscle fibers in your forearms, bi's, tri's and shoulders are all working together when benching. Definatly start hitting your tri's a bit more and you'll see those shakes go away faster. Good luck bro.

p.s. doing flies first doesn't really matter much, if the tri's are weak, then they are just that - weak. No matter what exercise you start of with. But DO WARM them up first on any first set and your workout will go smoother.

o.k now what are some really good tri mass builders close grip bench pressses, heavy push downs, what works the best for some of you

close grip bench, skull crushers, seated french press, donkey kick backs
