First injection, Best Needle size for thigh/quad?

Hi ,


If I am going to be using the thighs for injection sites, which would be the best gauge and needle size to use....22 or 23 inch gauge and 1 or 1.5 inch needle?

Also, should I put a bandaid on with a cotton ball afterwards?

Thick oil - 22 or 23g
Thin oil - 25g

I use 23g 1.25 for everything. No bandaid. Just place the swab back over it with mild pressure for a minute afterwards. I usually pull the skin to one side before I stick it, then when you pull out and let go the skin forms a seal over the pin hole. remember to aspirate before you push the plunger, if you draw up blood pull out and stick it somewhere else, if an air bubble then good to go.

It's thick, but it will go fine through a 25g. The injection will take longer, but that's fine as it's a thick oil and thick oils cause scar tissue when injected too quick.

Okay Thanks. When you say longer, could you elaborate since I'm new to this. Like 30 seconds total or say 5 minutes for a injection? I read somewhere that some people take 10 minutes, whereas on the other hand some said they do it in a few seconds...

I know this post is a tad bid old, but oh well.....

I use 25g 1" for all my quad injections. It takes me about 1 minute to inject.

It's big, granted, but it's nerve and vein alley.
