I'm trying to go low carbs to get leaner. My question is should I still consume fast digesting carbs PWO to replenish glycogen stores, or will this mess up my diet? I switched to creatine EE so I would'nt have to take dextrose/sugar with my creatine mono. Should I just take the CM with dext. PWO and the CEE off days?

Yeah its important to get your PWO nutrition in.

I like CM personally. You can use BCAA's to release insulin with your CM... you dont have to use a sugar and that wont mess up your diet.

Yeah, I always have my protein drink PWO, then the creatine mono w/dextrose. I just did'nt know if it would mess with my body being in fat burning mode.

No, it wont mess with it. You just have to make sure you dont take too much to kick you out of ketosis. I usually take about 20g PW. You can add 5g each time until you find your limit. 20g is on the low side but I do it just to be safe.

Thanks for the input guys, it's appreciated.

didn't wanna start a new thread

I'm wondering, if I got on a low carb diet, with fat/protein one, what will happen when I increase carb intake to normal levels (pre-diet)? Should I do it gradually to make adaptation to it again and not stress my body too much? Are carbs really needed at all? I mean, we lived for a few million years without cultivating rice, wheat etc. (we started growing crops @ ~10.000 BC) and our diet was based on meat, fish, various weeds, berries, fruits, vegetables... Do humans really need carbs to survive and grow? If we take a look @ japanese, they're a healthy bunch of people and their carb use is quite limited (except rice, they eat fish mostly and LOTS of veggies), ofc they are small due to limited usage of protein. So what ya think, do we really need all those oats, wheat, rice etc? Anyone tried bulking/dieting on fat/protein mostly? What's the results, feeling, impressions etc.. :)

no they are not needed for survival. There is no such thing as an essential carb but carbs do have there place for physique purposes. Its really hard to build mass without them. They should find a way into your diet after you have reached your fat loss goal. Just add them back slowly and see how much you can handle. Some can onlyhave PWO carbs and/or breakfast. While other can eat them all day long its a very individual thing. Experiment with different types of carbs to because it could very well be a food alergy if you dont digest them well or not. A lot of people blame carbs but it was really the type of carb not because it was a carb.

Asians are a race thats carb adapted though... since there diet has evolved to one after all the years of eating that way. Thats why most asians can get away with eating a lot of white rice and things. Polquin said this and also stated that only 30% of human beings are carb adapted and most of them being from asian decent.
