I started a new workout routine and I was wondering would this be too much? I used to do 3 days a week DC, and before that I did 2 on 1 off 2 on 2 off. I like to change my routine every few months.
Anyways this is what am doing right now, working out every other day and switching between 3 different workouts.
So it would look like this:
Day1: Chest, Tris, Hamstrings.
Day2: OFF
Day3: Shoulders, Quads, Abs.
Day4: OFF
Day5: Back, Bis, Calves, Forearms.
Day6: OFF
Day7: Chest, Tris, Hamstrings..............and so on.

I think it depends on the amount of volume you use in your workouts along with your diet. If youre not doing too much volume, and your diet is on point and youre getting plenty of protein, and carbs/fats at the right times, then I dont think you will be over training. I would just say try it out for a couple months, and if youre not getting any stronger, and feel tired and worn down, then youll know youre overtraining. Sorry, I know thats not the most straight foward answer youd want, but in my experiences, diet, and trial and error are the two best ways to guage your overtraining limits. keep us posted!

How long have you been training?

You just have to listen to your body. I am at the point where I know what works and what doesn't work for me. I really don't experiment anymore, but my best results have come when I trained each bodypart once every 7-10 days.

7 yrs! Try one body part once a week and go to town on it. I mean bomb it with high volume heavy weights low reps. Around 5-8 range. Try that for about 6-8 weeks and then see where you are at.
