Testosterone Gel, what should I expect?

Hello to all,
Today I started applications of testosterone in gel form, I am 61 and this is the first time I use something like that. Previous testosterone lab test gave normal numbers for my age, I repeat.....for my age. That is why I started to look for higher testosterone levels and finally found a pharmacy that adviced to use it in gel form, applying it on the triceps area, every day. It comes in little sealed envelopes of 50 mg. but I dont know how much testosterone is there. In any case, I would like to know if someone has any experience with this, and could give me an idea of what I should expect.
I will appreciate any information about this. Thanks.

I have used the 5%/2 ml Testim generic gel for a number of years and my numbers have been as high as 890 before. I am in my mid 50's. So expect a very nice boost in your test levels.

I personally got a precription for Test, but I went for the injectable, results were quicker, and it increased my test levels more, I didn't see much results with the gel.

Well, I am not sure where your levels are now as your starting point, but the gel will only get you into what the medical community considers a "normal" range, so I would not expect lots of muscle mass growth. But do expect improved muscle quality and tone, more energy, and higher sexual appetite. Your levels will be much higher than 99% of 61 year old men, no doubt. You should notice a difference in the way you feel in a week or so. The gel mimics the way your own body produces test, by releasing a small amount to your system everyday.

Be patient. Remember… even test E injections take weeks to reach full effect. I would approach this methodically. Use the gel for a month or two and then get tested and see what your readings are. I you are still unsatisfied, then you could see if your doc will script you injectable test. Either way, my doctor only allows me enough to be in the "accepted" normal zone. That level is lower than what most will need for bigger muscle gains, if that is what they are looking for. But! Even with a higher "normal" reading, with proper consistent training, diet and time, you are going to look great.

Here are my numbers after my testosterone lab work performed last January. As a consequence of this results, my doc did not want to treat me with testosterone, since he said levels were normal.
I will do my best to translate this tech names from Spanish into English, so please forgive inaccuracies in the translation.

Plasmatic Prolactine 7.6 ng/ml where normal for men is 2.6 - 18.1

Folicule Stimulating Hormone (FSH) 3.0 mUI/ml normal for men is 1.4 - 13.6

(LH) Luteinizante Hormone 4.1 mUl/ml where normail for men is 1.3 - 10.1

Plasmatic Testosterone 3.45 ng/ml where normal for men is 2.80 - 8.0

SHBG Transporting Protein 26.67 nmol/L where normal for men is 7.20 - 100.00

Free testosterone in Blood 27.2 picoMol/l where normal for men between 60 and 80 years old is 19.0 - 66.0

I certainly don't consider myself an expert, but it appears that you are on the low end of normal. I would get tested again after a moth or two on the gel and compare those levels before and after. I am sure you will see a good bump in levels.

i use it great stuff and has gotten me great results. being older you should know that elevating your test level will also help with disc's shrinking. tendons being brittle and slows arthritis effect. great side note on that because lifting puts such a strain on all of these.
I would say also to be patient in looking for the effects but some yo will notice almost immediately others will take a while. All good to say the least.
