I need some help leaning down.

Guys, I got into the lifting game only about two years ago. I was blessed with good genetics for muscle growth, but bad genetics for leanness. In two years I went from 13 inch arms to now over 19.5 inches pumped, and my arms look kinda lean---but my gut is fat. i wear a 38 waist pant and weigh 255. A trainer at the gym told me that with my bodytype--one who puts on size easily--that I should be able to handle a significant amount of cardio without losing muscle. I started a cycle of sus 250 about 5 weeks ago (only 500 mg/week). How much cardio do you guys think is enough? I recently started doing a lot of supersets and trisets in my workouts to promote fat burning. I work out about every other day. Should I be doing cardio on days I dont work out? My diet is kinda shitty but still high in protein, so dieting commments are welcomed. Do I need a rest day? I know if i could lose 25 to 30 lbs of fat I would look great (considering only 2 years of training). Please help me in any way you can. Also, I am taking hydroxycut hardcore, if that helps at all.

You need to clean up your diet. You can take hyroxycut and do cardio until your blue in the face, but unless you dial down on the diet your pissing directly into a stiff breeze.

Step 1: clean up the diet
Step 2: Bump the cardio to two dedicated (no work out that day) 40 min sessions a week. Being with HIIT.
Step 3: see step 1.

THIS ADVICE:

High protein.....................mediulm to low carbs....................medium fats.

Use a ratio something like this..........Pro 60%............carbs 25-30%..............fats 10-15%. This should give you an idea of where your diet needs to be. Once you lose the fat then readjust the ratios!

Also make sure your fats are healthy - Omega 3's, esp fish oil. The EPA in fish oil helps to burn fat and keep you cholesterol in good range.
80% of your results will come from diet. Make that your focus and you will suceed.
 
in all honesty, i always suggest to people to lean out before they worry about getting big. getting big then slimming down is just an excuse to hold a sloppy diet for extended periods of time as far as i'm concerned. the discipline it takes to cut the pounds will only help you to put on lean mass in the long run. I'd devote a few months strictly to worrying about losing the weight while maintaining if that's your main concern at this point.
on a separate note, hydroxycut is garbage imo. you will lose more weight with CLA and glutamine than you will with hydroxycut, guaranteed. make sure your carb intake consists of complex carbs and they're spread evenly or you'll have insulin spikes slowing down your fat loss.
