Expired alcohol swabs

I have a box of individually packaged alcohol swabs. The expiry date was about 3 weeks ago. Think they would still be safe to use? Personally, I didnt think so. but a couple guys at the gym said they always use expired swabs, as long as they arent more than a year old. What happens on the expiry date to alcohol swabs? does the alcohol start to deteriorate?
The questions here would be would you still use them?

No, im just wondering how much the effectiveness has actually decreased? They should still be working great though, right?

Don't worry about it. Drugs that are ingested or injected take time (sometimes years) to become ineffective. Perishables like milk or meat would make me worry about the date printed on it. Alcohol swabs are not something you are eating, are you? Rubbing alcohol is not for ingestion as it should say on each package referring the user to a poison control center immediately.

THEY are fine,, and will last LONG past expire.
