With all the talk about crap posts in the other forum, im putting this here, in the beginner forum.

Ill try to explain this as best as possible. I never seem to get 10cc's out of any 10cc bottle i get.

when your fill the syringe to the 1cc mark, where does the black rubber tip sit? if u look at the black rubber tip there are 3 things i see, the point, a line under the point, and then a second line. do u fill until the tip is at the 1cc mark? or the first or second line? i tried to explain this the best i could.. its not a big deal really... was just curious. i normally fill until the black tip hits the 1cc mark, and im guessing im always doing just a little over 1cc??

My wife is a pharmacy tech and I had her ask a pharmacist about the marks on a syringe and he pointed out something to me. The tip of the syringe where the needle screws on holds .2mls of liquid. If you ever look at a syringe before it is opened the plunger is set at the second line marking on the syringe to accomodate for the .2 mls that the tip holds. One way to get exactly the amount you want out is to just subtract what the tip holds, like if you want 1cc load up to the 1cc mark and push out all the air bubbles and stop 2 lines short of the 1cc mark on the syringe. Another way is to draw back the plunger to a known spot before drawing in the liquid, like draw back to the 1cc mark and then draw in the liquid until it fills to the 2cc mark so now you have 1cc of liquid in the syringe between the 1cc mark and the 2cc mark, change pins and expell the air out and your ready to go. You will notice after the air is all out that you are 2 lines short of the 1cc mark.

Also depending on what it is and where it from, alot of vials arent filled to the exact dose. Its common to get underfilled/overfilled vials and amps even. Always nice to get overfilled
