questions about abs workout

Hey guys
I have being working on abs for sometimes now and i m seeing some result only on my top abs they r like rock hard solid the lower 4 are just dont cut it ..no matter wht i try they r not getting tht defination like the first ones ..
i was wondering if thr is some sort of exersice that i should do tht only focus on those lower abs ..

I feel that area is more diet than anything. But you could try some leg lifting excercises.
 
For me the most productive is the one with the hanging straps that support the elbows or something called flutter kicks and YUM YUMs where you lay flat on your hands on the floor and kicking your legs up and down
 
From what I hear the majority of good abs is diet...
I have the same problem with the lower abs so hopefully my clean diet will get them right eventually
 
Hanging knee raises. But you need to raise your upper legs up from the hip as you hang from the chin up bars. Kind of like a reverse hanging crunch!
 
i gotta tell ya man abs are diet. im sure your able look great, the problem is theres a thin layer of fat hiding the bottome ones. destroy that fat and youll get the abs.
 
The mainstay of my ab routine is hanging leg raises. I do them super-strict and make sure to breathe out on the way up(exhaling all the air in my lungs and contracting my abs as hard as i can at the top) and then slowly lowering them. You can do them hanging from straps or they have the hanging leg raise machines with the arm supports. I don't do too much else and when i am lean, my lower abs look good(at least IMO)
 
You guys will probably scorn me for saying this but I personally think direct ab work is useless. It's all diet. And all the work needed is received elswhere. Maybe I have shitty form etc. but i seem to get a better hit to my abs doing front squats and deadlifts than crunches, rope pulls and hanging knee raises.
