who is making $$$ in the stock market right now

it's been hard to make money for a few years now with the way i trade (technical analysis based trading). classical strategies - breakouts, breakdowns, etc. - dont work the way they used to. my theory is that there are too many hedge funds out there taking the opposite sides of each others' trades, thus cancelling each other out basically. i'm doing ok but am curious what others are finding success with?

Check out ExxonMobil. It's a technician's dream stock. Sector is flying, stock is underperforming sector for no fundamental reason. Looks good for at least a 5-7 point pop.

Also, look into companies that are working on technologies to make on-demand video available ofer cell phones. CEll service itself is played out, so is text messaging. Next step is actual cell phone CONTENT - videos, music, tv shows, movies. Nearly all cell providers have signed agreements for content providers, some have not. There are only 3 providers of this service out there.

Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio - for the long term.

GZFX baby, we are looking for .2-.4 after January 15th, hopefully. Either way I'm in the green right now bigtime, I've made 50% so far and I wish I had gotten in earlier.

GZFX is an OTCBB stock for those that dont know. Schwab and other big players have been soaking up shares, because they know its potential. Its already up about 12 fold from the 52 week low. Its been high before, but this time thing are different (sure they all say that dont they??

). We/they are in a pilot program with Circuit City with a chance to go nationwide, this is the kind of exposure they need. Upcoming superbowl commercial as well.

You probably want real time level 2s if you trade rather than invest, and a streaming service, like something that cooperates with QuoteTracker (free software).

What are some good books for begginers learnng about the stock market.
I mean if you know nothing.

I was lucky to purchase some Google right after it was opened up to general trading, I think I got 100 shares at 89.50, something like that. That stock has defied all logic when it comes to standard market performance, I was a little worried when it hit 200. I was thinking that it was over, everyone was trying to get in and the stock was going to take some downturns due to a bubble effect. But lo and behold I stuck it out, the stock closed at like 425 today. I am thinking of dumping it, but I don't want to lose out if they do a split. Anythoughts?

Best Acquisition Ever

I went back and checked the order, I got the 80 shares for 102.50, so that cost me 8200 dollars, at close today today we finished up 9 points to close at 414. So all in all, around 25,000 grand off one aquisition. I want to sell it and get some more diversity in the portfolio, but theres time for that, I am only 25.
