ot lost my job today

hey guys i just got laid off today and im gonna get paid for two months. they said it was cause the economy.

my question is can i draw unemployment and go to college full time.

Dam James, sorry to hear that. You would have to check in your state for terms of employment compensation. Some allow you to, if you are changing your job status. My wife was in a program to further her education for employment and got paid.

ye im thinking of going for nursing or mlt . dont know yet im gonna go to the college and find out what i have to take.

but yea it really sucks . when you have two kids ,wife , house and car . all cost money .

but i worked on atms and it was dangerous. didnt have a gun and had money out in the open all times of the nite.

maybe it is for the best.

I know in my area I got extension on unemployment and got school paid for since they said my job was lost due to "over-sea'" competition and/or out-sourcing. I think that is the criteria needed in PA. Normally u get 6 months un-employment and they send you to career-link to find you a new job. Plus, I believe it has to be a short term training. I went and got my CDL license and training in heavy equipment. I dont have a job now that is in that field but shit, Ill take almost 30k to pay for anything

well they laid me off because of the pissy ass economy . it sucks.

then they said ill get paid until september the 15 then ill get my sick and vacation pay . which is like three more weeks.

yea i had a 9mm pistol in the car today . and he had to watch me while i cleaned it out being a company car. and i pulled the pistol out to put in my gym bag and he stepped back really fast .

i should of went postal . no not worth it.

Look into getting displaced worker status from Fafsa/college. My girlfriend went through something similar a few months ago and they let her go to school while collecting, and actually made her eligible for more interest free money from the government. I'm not sure if your industry/situation applies, but it's a good deal if you can get it. Very state dependant on unemployment compensation.
