Hey Guys

Have we got an PC geeks on here?

I just wanted to know peoples opinions on Tyan Motherboards..there not as popular over in Europe as in the States, hence just thought Id see if anyone has any more input

There are too many superior board manufactures with better products and warranty's to go with this brand. Although I don't know your circumstances or goal. I would stick with some trusted brands like Asus, Abit, DFI, Gigabyte, or Biostar. This machine I'm on I have an Abit Quad GT, its the best MB I have ever owned.

Hey Bud

I am running an Asus now, quad core, 4GB OCZ and 8800GT....but the new beast I want to build needs to be able to host 2 x Quad Cores and 16GB ram...hence wanted to know which server level MB were good..if any do support dual quad core

I see, that is a crazy server! what are you trying to host with that?

Only board to every give me a problems was an ASUS. Just moving the case would cause the video card (tried 4 different) memory to fail initialization.
I use an MSI board for a home Pop3/http/smb server: No complaints...

Asus has some boards I'm not a big fan of, but they also have some pretty solid models like the P5K-VM, P5K3, P5W, or Striker. They are extremely high Volume I think the biggest MB Manufacture in the world. So you will hear all sides and experiences.

I have old machine with Asus P2B board with Pentium3 slot1, no complains for last 9 Years!

Just kidding, I offer Infrastructure hosting for virtualised and dedicated environments, and so am coming away from Branded "shite" from HP and using in-house very high end systems built and fit for my purpose. More than likely Ill go with the Intel boards as they have an awesome new dual quad capable board out.....
