I recently obtained a 160 gb Western Digital SATA-150 2.5" notebook harddrive to replace my existing 30 gb IDE HDD. Obviously you can see the problem as the SATA HDD isn't compatible with the existing motherboard in my laptop. Is there any easy fixes or adapters that I can get to make it compatible or is my best bet just boxing it back up and sending it in for a replacement IDE drive?
Here's the 160 gb drive- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136071
The old 30 gb IDE was a Hitachi but I can't find the exact specs.
So basically what I think I need is a SATA to IDE converter or adapter which I'm not even sure they make and after a shit ton of online searching don't think they do???
Can someone enlighten me?
