A word to the wise. I visited this site for the first time in a long time recently and picked up a couple of nasty spyware bugs. I know that it was from this site, probably one of the sponsors, because it was the only site I had not visited before using this computer, and it was immediately after my visit that I began having problems. Also, your sponsors are, well, questionable.

My bad for not having a scanner in place, and for using Internet Explorer. Nonetheless, I think the sysops should know that this is coming from their site.

FYI There were two in particular that I have found so far. One was outerinfo.com, which nicely enough installed an uninstaller when it hijacked my system. The other is rond.starsdoor.com, which pops up a lot of soft porn. This one is proving particularly difficult to remove.

I am using a less targeted browser now from a different computer that is better protected, and feel comfortable enough returning to the scene to post this message.

Download spywareblaster, just google it. Update the definitions, enable all protection. That will help. Also download spybot, turn off the tea timer and the other check box by it in the installation. Update the definitions, immunize, run a scan, and your set. Use firefox.

Hey KAISER, wanna set this bud straight!? :D

And you just have no idea what you are talking about. None of our sponsors have ActiveX Control prompting. Without it, you are not getting spyware, unless of course you download something and execute it on purpose, of which none of the sponsors have anything to download. Blame your problem on some other site, or just stupidity.

He is telling the truth.. I got one too

The minute I started looking at the ring of sites I was unable to stop looking at them daily. I don't know if I have downloaded a virus or something but this really needs to stop.

Then you need to point it out to me. If people are going to say something derived from a sponsor, then we will need a pointer, and we will take care of it. Otherwise, it didn't come from here.

I have been looking at AAS boards for some years now. Many of times you see the same sponsors at almost every single board you go to. I am no virus expert. But I do have my anti-virus software running all the time. And never once have I ever in all the years had a issue with any board! Or Supp. So I also do not know where you guys are getting your viruses from!?

I do know every time I visit a porn site I am bombarded with virus attacks. Good thing I don't look at porn anymore! hehe (ok, not that much) LOL

Just a heads up, there are some viruses over on www.discussworldissues.com
The viruses are eh, somewhat cleverly disguised as spyware removal program downloads but are in fact VIRUSES do not click on the links in the following threads:

Now obviously these are board users and the board admin is not responsible for these just wanted to make folks who visit over there aware of this. There may be more that I have not seen yet, too, so be careful. I will pass this along to BigA as well. Thanks! 'cheeky-sm
