Windows update not working

When I try to manually update windows it goes instead to MSN.com and Ive tried everything my PC will not download anything from windows update. It either goes to msn.com or says windows update/Microsoft site could not be found...whats up with that?

No bugs on your machine? That is a common issue, otherwise you can go to MS, find a particular update you may need by KB and manually download that. See if you can manually download from them. Also, which version of update are you using? The newest one uses the control panel and not IE. If that no workie you may need to go in and screw around with the "softwaredistribution" folder.

Sounds fishy.

Try going to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and doing an online scan to see if you have a virus/malware/etc.

I have eset/Nod 32 anti- v on my PC.
Its weird..every time I try to download anything from windows it always says "connection interrupted" its like my PC has been programmed to avoid any updates from windows...Trojan, maybe? Ive reset the firewall so its not that....HELP

still reroutes to MSN.com when I try to go to windows update and when I go to any other windows site to download it says connection interrupted.

OK I found the prob. It was a Trojan that was some kind of DNS server redirect I got it out and now the updates work again...thanks for all the help guys.

Use malwarebytes once a week to fix bugs like that. PS, thats what I meant by bug (trojan, malware, spyware)
I saw one a while back that you would actually see bugs crawl on your screen!

I had several spyware and anti-Trojan progs but I then used malwarebytes and that is what found the Trojan...very good Program.

Dude thats freakin WEIRD...i had the same problems and when i got it to update the shit didnt work and I have been without a computer for 2 days..finally back dont even bother updating it IMO bro.
