SERIOUS VIRUS THREAT

Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled 'Mail Server Report'! If you open either file, a message will appear on your screen saying: 'It is too late now; your life is no longer beautiful.' Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC, and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'. PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, and ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY! THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY SNOPES: http://www.snopes.com

I looked it up on my MS knowledge base and couldn't find anything. It may be a hoax as ( i am a developer) those emails operate within internet explorer. Because they are operating within a browser(not just IE), any processes initiated by the browser are limited to what we call 'the sandbox'. They are not able to get access to the file system, nor network resources(to grab a windows identity token). I could be wrong, i was just trying to figure out how one could go about doing this.......so it is definitely better to just not open any email with that title.

If you have a good anti-virus and its updated then you have little to worry about.

it would take all of 30 seconds to find it in an antivirus library as a hoax.
If you see that shit about "snopes" which is some sort of lame urban legend site, its bullshit.
If it says its verified, its bullshit. Microsoft, cnn, etc.. will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever send you email alerts about some crap virus, its your problem if you get it, not theirs.
