Can someone tell me what the problem is?

I've assembled computers before and have done hardware upgrades. However I am doing a brand new one with completely new hardware.
I set everything up however when I try to power on nothing happens. Not even the tiny LED lights on the mobo that are supposed to tell you that there is power going to the rig turn on. The only thing that happens is a humming sound from part of the mobo. I returned the psu in turn for another same watts so I know thats not the issue. Can some one please tell me what the problem could be. I am thinking that the problem is coming from the mobo. Though it is brand new out of the box. The cpu is oem. This is really frustrating me cause I can't figure out what the issue is. I'm a toy with it some more and see if I can see whats up

As dumb as it sounds, make sure everything has power connected to it, and make sure the switch on the back of the PSU is flicked.

yea this is the firs thing i did. though it did not help. Maybe the mobo was doa. The thing is I don't have known good parts to swap with and try to narrow it down.

Thanks for the replies bro. I decided to return the mobo in exchange for another. Getting a slightly better one. I am convinced that thats the problem.
