Will this work with a blackberry curve?

Guys

I can get my horrible piece of shit phone upgraded to a blackberry curve for only 10 bucks!!!

Problem is you have to purchase the data pack with it and I dont have the cash to pay for internet service and everything each month.

So the lady at wal mart told me to just get it and then cancel my data plan...

Would this work?

I just want to use my phone for the calling and texting and I use the alarm and scheduling feature. I dont use intant messenger or internet or music or anything like that

I am a huge advocate of windows mobile phones and i decided to move away from one not that long ago and tried to cancel my data plan. I ran into some trouble, you may want to pose a 'hypothetical' question to a sales rep at your carriers store and see what they say. I would also reccommend going over the contract with a fine tooth comb so you are not wrangled into two years of a data plan.

I am a sprint member and i go with the $99 a month unlimited EVERYTHING plan. It is hard to beat that and i have the htc touch pro. Great phone, great plan, and decent service.

the phone will work fine. DO NOT configure it to 'pull' from any email accounts or receive updates or any kind or you will be liable for a per kilobyte data access fee. It adds up WAY quick, believe me.

My plan is to buy it and not mess with anything and then cancel the data plan the next day!

It will work fine without the data plan. The data plan simply allows you internet and BBM access. I have plenty of friends who use the pearl and curve without data plans.

The phone will work without the data plan BUT most of the time the phone company won't let you cancel the data plan, it's automatically added to your bill even if you don't use it. I know this because I tried it...lol
