Hi,

Has anyone purchase Windows 7? It so, how do you rate it? It cost 471 bucks (Australian Dollars). Just want to hear people opinion before I buy it.
I have saw the cover at the shops last night and look at the features of it but it looks good.

I have no idea what you arte talking about, can you post a link? The closest I can figure is IE7, but thats obviously not it.

I think your talking about Windows 7. I've heard mixed reviews but mostly positive. It is supposed to take the best features from XP & Vista and combine them.

My personal preference is to wait a few months (at least weeks) to install anything new from Microsoft. There are usually bugs to work out and security problems. Third party drivers may not be upgraded yet either. So if you have anything attached like a printer, scanner, web cam, etc make sure the drivers have been updated.

Also, i don't know what kind of computer you have but you may want to consider getting a new one with Windows 7 installed. I know I can get a much better computer in the States for $400-$500 then I have now with Windows 7 installed. It would also be a fresh copy. Some people will argue things can get missed when when upgrade a system and/or your old system may not be compatible with a new operating system.

I have it but have not installed it yet. I bought a new hp and it came with it. I am not going to install it for about 6 months or so. Problem being, a lot of applications that I use are not be compatible because it's so new. It won't even work with my school website yet. I 'd give it a little time, until there are more users.

So far the reviews I heard about it, it's just like vista, and not worth the money.
I wont be using it...Xp Pro is still the best.

I've heard good stuff from beta testers and people playing with it in Hyper-V.
Good hardware support, small enough footprint to run on a netbook, stable.

I might download it and install it when I have time. I get it for free.
