What Anxiety Med does not Effect Your Anger?

So basically, I'm looking for a anxiety / Social Anxiety medication that does not mess with my energy, anger, and does not make me fat..?

After searching on here , I found out many use Lexapro with decent results & no weight gain.

No one has mentioned whether or not it suppresses there aggression/anger or if they are a zombie throughout the day.

Impossible to answer. Best thing is to see a doctor and express these exact same concerns and let him/her get some history on you. This just isn't the place to get opinions on psychotropic medications - even more so because you appear to have at least some history with anger and/or anger management.

Sit down with an experienced and board certified professional.

Good point.

After more 'internet research' Prozac looks the best for me. Can increase energy levels, while most others decrease them.... Will discuss more with my doc with it of course.

I can't afford to soften up... Need me some anger.

When you say anti-anxiety medicine do you mean like a shorter acting benzo for severe anxiety? Or a much longer acting one?

I am prescribed xanax(real low dose) and if something has me completely stressed i take one. It mellows me out and lets me relax so i can view things with a clearer perspective. It doesn't affect my energy levels but i could not see me possibly getting mad when i take it. That being said, it only lasts for really 2-3 hours(for me). I average taking it maybe once a week if i am really stressed out. It is definitely not something you can let become an every day thing because they are rather addicting.

So, see a trained medical professional and let him know. This is what mine reccommended when we had the discussion.

SOmthing one a day I had in mind to help the entire day. I've tried xanax, it is very good at stopping a panic attack because it kicks in fast. It's somthing I could not take regularly through out the day though.. Which I need. Also Xanax does mellow you out alittle to much!

i will look when i go home tonight. They also gave me an anti-anxiety medication that helps you cope with stress and anxiety on a daily basis. I can't for the life of me remember the name. it is a very low dose(like 20mg). I will post it up tonight.
