SWCC-Special Warfare Combat-Craft Crewman

My son is interested in getting into this program with the Navy. He has NOT enlisted yet. He's 25 and seeing that life stinks in the working world! hahaha But he's a good kid and never once gave me a problem. Ever! He's about 6'-2" about 185-190pnds. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge in this field? Any info I can toss his way to see if he has what it takes would be really appreciated.

I am ex Navy. Sorry I am not familiar with this this exact rate but it sounds like this is something fairly new. Possibily something to deal with the open sea piracy. I do remember a rate called craft crewman and they were working with water rescues, assisting coast guard operations, training personnel in foreign countries, and recovering equipment in foreign waters. It's not a new rating. Special boat crews have been around for a while. Their main job is to drop SEALS. After your son takes the ASVAB make sure he can get a specwar designated rate and try out from there. The training is alot of fun but extremely difficult. High attrition rate.
