I would assume that most people on this forum are pretty good with computers so how many of you have tried internet dating using one of those match sites? I recently broke up with my girlfriend and am interested in dating again, however I'm tired of the bar scene and the girls who I end up meeting out. For the guys who have tried this has it been successful and which sites did you use? I appreciate any advice.

hey bud. i was on match and still am on plenty of fish. that one's free. met 29 women last year. do i remember names? hardly. and beware of the pics. lotsa chicks put up old pics. but it's a really easy way to meet women, even if they turn out to be psychos. actually most were really nice, but the fuckups were FUCKED UP! you'll have fun on pof. try it out.

Those sites are only as good as your screening skills. You have to sift through tons of damaged goods, liars etc.. If it's just T+A you are after then they can be a gold mine but finding a high quality classy lady can be as hard or harder than finding one out here in the regular world.

I have tried those dating sites for years. You are scraping the bottom of the barrel with most of the women on these sites. I have been out with a few that probably needed psychiatric help. I have also tried adult friend finder. It is very difficult to meet anyone on there that isn't a nut case. The best one is plenty of fish. At least it is free. The quality women seem to be very picky. But you have to keep trying.

Craigslist can work, but you need to run a ad and not come across as one of the many losers there, be assertive but a gentleman.

I met my fiance on an online service, singlesnet.com i think, but i was wrapping up the online dating thing as there are some loons on there, but no different than meeting women elsewhere. On a whim i messaged her, and soon after we met for lunch, the rest is history. Moral of the story is, IMO, when it's time for you to meet that special person, you will meet her, God has his ways.

I'm going through a real tough break up, but would like to start dating again. Most of my friends are in serious relationships and on their way to getting married so no guys night out which makes it hard. I don't need to be in a bar anyway, I have had a history of abusing alcohol to cope with my issues.

That's your offline resource. Ask your friends if their significant others have anyone that they think of that you could go out on a date with. Those ladies will probably know lots of other ladies and I'm sure that some of them are single.

Of course, if you are just looking to play (i.e. use) - this most likely would not be a good idea.

Being married I don't have to worry about dating, however, two of my relatives used match.com and as a result, are both in two very positive relationships which have last over 2 years now...it's a new age...good luck.

UPDATE

Ive been doing two dating websites for about 3 weeks now and have had decent luck. Been dating one girl for 2 weeks now she seems like a pretty good girl, and working on a few others. It's pretty much a numbers game for every 3 or 4 emails you send, you may get 1 reply.

You hit the nail on the head with this comment. I would say that SOMETHING is wrong with a majority of the women who are on there. They are either insecure with a low self esteem or they are serial daters. Those are the worst ones because they have perfected the ordeal and broke it down into a science. They know exactly what to say and what not to say based on their vast experiences. But....the good ones fool you into thinking that they are good girls. You gotta wait till they get real comfortable to see their character defects. Those who wear their heart on their sleeves are asking to get hurt. If you stay in control of your emotions there are tons of chics to use for sexual gratification, but your probably better off with a bottle of astroglide and redtube.com Bahahaha!!!

I met my wife of almost 5 years on Aim. To be honest allot of decent women ar eon those sites. I know plenty of guys who used them to find nice women who like you are tired of the bar scene.
