Getting my girl to love the gym.....

Well she just joined a gym that should be opening within a few months. I take her to the gym with me here and there (at my gym), but she doesnt seem REALLY into it (although shes always up for the gym whenever i ask her to go). Shes very healthy and loves to eat good (and yell at me when i dont). She seems enthusiastic about going, so i want to teach her to really like it. Is there any advice you can give me or suggestions where i can make the experience pleasant and help her really learn to love the gym as i do? Shes already got a VERY nice body, but hey we can all improve. She wants ripped abs haha (even tho she has tiny cute ones you can see when shes layin down).

A lot of couples have this mental image of working out side-by-side with there partner. Well, it usually doesn't happen that way. I'll give you the heads up on that one!
While I've seen a few relationships that have benefited from the couple workout sessions, I've also seen quite a few fights break out in the free weight room at my gym!! (and no, I'm not kidding ...)

Everyone likes different aspects of the gym.
I just happen to be a bit of a freak at my gym, and love the weight room more than the 'group fitness' or cardio bunny area.
That's probably the biggest thing. Don't try to push her into something you love.

For the first little bit, I'd just act as her tour guide : Encourage her to try the classes, 'intro sessions' .. again, just because it's not your thing ..

I wouldn't try to set up routines, or anything concrete until she's more comfortable with everything around her - that often just intimidates people who start off excited, and then end up overwhelmed!

Just keep in mind, that those who don't know as much about fitness (and i use that term loosely!) will take everything you say LITERALLY. So just keep this in mind

I tend to agree with Aqua on this. Do not start her out hardcore or it may discourage. Try to make it interesting and fun. Don't be afraid to try some new stuff your self. Keep it light hearted and have a laugh. Try some work on the ball, this will give you both a good laugh.
