It doesn't sound like she needs to be any leaner. There are so many women who are afraid of getting to big or bulky. I use to hear this all time in the gym. They don't want to get too much muscle. It just hard to make them understand that it isn't easy to get bulky. Especially for a woman, those of us who have added muscle had to really work on our diets. Without that food, it's almost impossible for your average woman to gain a lot of muscle. Now I say almost because there will be some woman with amazing genetics who will prove me wrong. lol
All you can do is continue to encourage her to weight train and explain that it's not that easy for to gain muscle. Also let her know that weight training isn't always about getting big. It's also about being stronger and healthy. As we get older our muscle atrophy and bones lose density, and by strength training we keep building muscle and bones so they are stronger. I can do s post on reasons why women should lift weight that you can show her. Maybe that will help. I posted a basic routine in a thread a while back. You might give it to her to try. Basic woman's workout?
