Just checking in
Hey ladies! (and oldfella) I've been gone a year. Most of it was spent in Wyoming up in the mountains and no internet there.
Got back to Florida but my computer had died while in storage and I finally bought a new one. I sporatically hit the gym while out west and working 2 jobs now so just maintenance workouts. Being 49 and having to go back to manual labor type work after a 15 year retierment has been tough. I treat it like an 8 hour workout and have my pre-WO shake first thing in the morning and tote my 5 small meals in a cooler & drink plenty of water and am able to keep up with the young 'uns

Lynx, it was great! I worked for the Forest Service tending a campground on the southern edge of the Teton Wilderness. Grizzly Bears everywhere.
I even had one clawing at the side of my camper trying to get a bunch of fresh killed buffalo meat I had in a cooler!  The worst part of that is that I was out of rounds for my gun & had left my bear spray in my truck. Thank goodness it didn't try and come in! I was pounding on the walls of the camper and my dog was barking like crazy so it finally left after leaving claw marks on the front door. No the gun was in my camper with me! I just didn't have any rounds for it so it was no help if big bear came in
 The bear spray was in the truck and no help to me. .....and there should always be a gun in the truck to!

AD is back....! So when you get tired of pushing around those buffalo and dinky little Wyoming bears come see us up in Alaska. Plenty of moose and brown bear to go around up here....
I'm looking out my kitchen window at the Chugach Mountain's front range, they are beautiful beyond words and are part of my soul forever. This country is perfect for anyone who loves the solitude that wilderness provides and I can't think of a better place to be a dog, ours have always had incredible lives. Plenty of Forest Service work up here too, my wife has done quite a bit of contracting from both the Forest Service and the BLM. LOL.... Have I sold you on Alaska yet?

I missed the last posts in this thread  Norm, 've been trying to get to Alaska for years, especially the area you are in. I'm watching a hunting show about Alaska right now!
