Lynx, it was great! I worked for the Forest Service tending a campground on the southern edge of the Teton Wilderness. Grizzly Bears everywhere.
I even had one clawing at the side of my camper trying to get a bunch of fresh killed buffalo meat I had in a cooler! The worst part of that is that I was out of rounds for my gun & had left my bear spray in my truck. Thank goodness it didn't try and come in! I was pounding on the walls of the camper and my dog was barking like crazy so it finally left after leaving claw marks on the front door. Here's a photo of my 80lb dog checking out a pile of bear poop that was left in my camp! Last edited by Amazon Doll; 02-28-2009 at 09:31 AM. |

AD is back....! So when you get tired of pushing around those buffalo and dinky little Wyoming bears come see us up in Alaska. Plenty of moose and brown bear to go around up here....
I'm looking out my kitchen window at the Chugach Mountain's front range, they are beautiful beyond words and are part of my soul forever. This country is perfect for anyone who loves the solitude that wilderness provides and I can't think of a better place to be a dog, ours have always had incredible lives. Plenty of Forest Service work up here too, my wife has done quite a bit of contracting from both the Forest Service and the BLM. LOL.... Have I sold you on Alaska yet? |
