IM vs SUBQ

hello fellas,
just wondering how u all administer yer trt?

I've injectected subq w/ slin pin for a year now, decided to try IM
,still with slin pin inj.


from what i've read on other boards, IM is the preferred way to go, since subq
leads to lower peak test levels. On the other hand, sub-q suposedly lowers the rate of aromatization?
Off course only bloodwork will tell the truth

I generally leave it up to the patient. For hrt doses, sub q is fine and actually can allow for slightly more frequent less aggravating dosing leading to more stable blood levels.

There is research suggesting reduced aromatization... clinical relevance is... questionable whether it's the route or levels.


Personally I recommend/prefer sub q... if you're pushing 0.5-2ml/wk

I did it for close to a year at the recommendation of my Dr. Bloodwork was the same as when I was IM.

IM pin only.

I inject trt only sub q. 50 mgs of test enanthate eod gave me a total of 1531 and a free of 554 with and estradiol of 22. Test levels to high so I went to 25 mgs ed to see if in fact I get a reduction is total and free while keeping estadiol is the low normal. have another 3 weeks until I get tested again.

IM here. Levels went from low to 1210 total serum and 21.4 free T. E2 a bit high so lowering from 100mg ew to 80. Also taking 0.5mg anastrazole ew next day.

Question for slin pin users: how do you draw the oil from the vial? Right now, I use a 21g pin to draw .5 cc T into a 3cc syringe, and then swap it with a 25g to inject. But you can't switch pins on an insulin syringe. Do you just use the same pin to draw up oil from the vial and to inject? Is there another way you do it?

You just use the same pin. It's not as bad with a small SQ needle. Drawing it up is a pain but the stick itself is a non factor.

This makes it so much easier...and works well also...
