Offseason's here, what should I focus on??

These pics were about 2 weeks out from my show. Aside from my waist and low back being problem area's and the last to come in for me, I was wondering what the judges would think my deficiencies are.

Congratulations on your last show! You definately have a package and with a little ( I mean little ) work you could do some damage.

1. Your overall arm size is slightly defficient relative to your Lat development.

2. Bring your front delts up so your side chest and standing relaxed from the side are more impressive.

3.Your calve development is amazing...you probably don't even train them! Lucky Bastard! If you do slow down they over shadow your thighs.

4. Legs need to be thicker and more dense although you have great separation and conditioning. Try to add Vastus Lateralus sweep this will help with the apperance of thickness.

Keep up the great work, when are you planning to compete again?

Excellent advice,

1) my damn biceps have little peak, they are kind of long. they are def a priority this offseason

2) good point about my front delts, i really don't train them, they seem to get overlooked in my shoulder routine

3) I do 4-8 sets for calves once a week 1/2 seated , 1/2 standing usually 20-50 reps per set not too heavy. so yeah, i guess thats all genetic

4) thats a great observation, usually people tell me good legs and leave it at that. I can completely see how that would help, hopefully I can find a good exercise to promote that sweep

I'm planning on taking a full year to compete again. my 2nd show this year, 2 weeks ago was the NABBA Nationals (I took 3rd in my class)

I'm gonna do the same show again next year in mid september. Hopefully I can add some quality mass and come in heavier and harder. I was 225# this past show

I agree with Vulgar that arms need to be brought up, remember to always keep in mind that the tri's represent 70% of over-all arm size.

The only other areas I would concentrate on during the next year
are "upper back" and hams.

Love those almost "MikeMatarazzo" cows you got!

Thanks for the eval, Worldspan. I agree, I think upper back thickness needs to be brought up. I wish i could deadlift (old ruptured L5-S1 disk and back surgery prevent that) I need to find something to hit that area hard.

good point about the tri's , even with genetically low peak biceps, bigger tri's could greatly enhance my arm size

I always thought that my hams were one of my better body parts, i do have some difficulty posing them correctly. Heres a couple of day after contest pics , where my hams are better posed.

Or after seeing these do you still think they could be brought up??
