Question for judges

How harshly are scars looked down upon during a bodybuilding contest?

I have a huge scar across my stomach but I'd love to compete on an amateur level here locally. I just don't want to waste my time if I will never place well due to my huge scar.

I know I'm definitely not in any sort of shape to be competing right now but would it be possible to build up everything else so my other attributes could outshine my horrendous scar or will it always put me at a disadvantage? The worst part is, because of the scar I always have a little bulge right on top and underneath. No matter how skinny I get it's a big indentation in my stomach. I can still get a 4 pack at best lol.

No biggie............show up in shape and tanned.....no one will notice

Don't worry, a good judge wouldn't count off for your scar. I have seen many scars judging shows for over 20 years and it shouldn't affect the judging at all. What matters is mass, how ripped you are , symmetry (left ot right and top to bottom). I have also seen some top competitors use a make up to mask scars which many times helps. Don't worry about your scar...hit the gym hard and compete when you are ready!! ok bro!

Working on adding a bit more mass right now and getting rid of some of that fat before I begin contest prep in September

Don't worry about it. There are so many tatoos on so many body parts in these times, your scar will seem almost insignifigant.
