Check him out. Newest member of the Zona family. Rescued him from the pound. Supposed to be (according to vet) either a Staffordshire/Mastiff mix or possibly Pitt/Boxer. Any opinions dog experts? More than likely the first combo is what I gather. Either way he is pretty awesome, huh?

|--[\\\]>------- I would def. say Mastiff in the mix for sure, you can tell by the tan coat and the black around the face...typical marking for a mastiff.

So you are a sucker for animals. Me too! He's cute. I have two Boxers whom I am crazy about. They are my boys! I hate being away from them. I swear that when I go to shows that I spend my time worrying about them and wishing I had them with us. Jessica and I were talking about how we wish we could bring them with us everywhere we go. This is good timing for you to get a dog. They are good for the soul. What are you feeding him?

Nice Dog!!

That is pretty dog!! It looks more like the first mix for sure. HOw old is he? Make sure to post more pics as he gets bigger!

Putnam- I love boxers!! I used to have two of them too!! They are the best dogs IMO. They were both from champion show dog lines and were beautiful!! RIP Dino & Turbo, I miss you guys badly!! I have a doberman now, I saved him from my friends ex-girlfriend who was going to give him away.... Alright enough of my dog stories.....

Have fun with your new buddy Zona!!

Definately looks more like a amstaff/mastiff mix. My buddy has the same mix and his dog looks very similar to that, although its kinda hard to tell b/c his dog is full grown. How old is your pup?

Looks like some mastiff in him for sure. He's one helluva cute little bastard!!!

Pup

Thers alot of Mastif in there....Did you forget to tell us his name....great looking dog

My son dubbed him CHAMP, though I am seriously contemplating renaming him Sir Poopsalot. Its amazing, he is like a machine but his output seems to double his input! I am thinking of feeding him some quarters in hopes that he will Sh*t half dollars. The vet told us he was undernourished and to forego puppy chow and feed him regular Science Diet Big Dog food 1.5 cups 3 x per day. Thats roughly 2 cups more per day than my full grown Retriever. LOL!

Not to take away from Zona's thread, but my dogs are loco. No, they are fun loving, charismatic, fearless, and quite the ladies men.:) They are easy on the eye with the sleek, athletic builds.:) They know no strangers! I was raised with them and my folks had a female(bitch) that had a champion blood line that we breed. We have owed Rotts and Pugs, but nothing compares to a Boxer's seal for life! They are highly intelligent dogs that must be trained and know where they stand with their owners. If not, they can turn into FREAKS! Now, give Champ his time. Zona, Jess thinks he's adorable!

S Zona .............awesome dog for an awesome bodybuilder and person as well......I remember reading somewhere that you were a teacher[probally most important job that there is ] and family man .........my hats off to you bro [most bodybuilders are very self absorbed and selfish].......stay healthy , enjoy your holidays , and all my best to you and your family [ including your beautiful pup ]

As to all my friends on here that either own or have owned boxers . I had two the were actually like my kids [ as well as a wonderful Rott as well ] When they each turned 10 , I slowly lost each one of them to cancer and they fought so hard for me until the very end ...............i think they knew how much that they ment to me ..... They are missed each and everyday ..........i have unfortunately lost alot of friends and close family during the course of my life [more than anyone should have to endure ].................but nothing hurts ,or has left as much of a void in my heart like the loss of those dogs [ maybe pathectic on my part .....but I dont let myself get attacted to people .....trust issues i guess ] Bulldog 21, sorry for the losses of your dogs ........you and I seem to more alike each time i read one of your posts ............Jake , Jessie , and rocco .........R.I.P .....I will love and miss you forever .................S Zona ......let that dog really into you and your family's lives and i promise it will add something very special .[ yes they are hard to deal with the first two years .....but so worth it ]

Out of curiosity, just how big did your buddy's dog get? Champ is roughly 12 weeks and around 30 lbs but the vet said he is a bit undernourished presently. Working on bulking him up a bit

Thanks man, I appreciate those words. Sometimes my plate seems a bit full, but it certainly keeps my life interesting and most definitely prevents one from becoming selfish or self absorbed.

I lost my Mom very suddenly on July 25th of this year. The very day I got the call from my dad we went to the pet store and started looking for a puppy. Weird how our pets can provide us with comfort. Already have a Retriever and a Cat who are very much a part of the family...now there is one more in the mix.
:D
