One morning of the neighborhood boys were walking to school down the middle of the street right down the center yellow line like tough boys do. I had backed up into the corner of the yard behind the fence covered in brush. I hit the automatic gate opener and our Rotty heads straight for the gate just he does every morning like this will be the morning I'll let him out to roam free.
The two boys stop in mid-stride, eyes wide open when they see the gate open and our Rotty standing there staring very intently at them. They are just about to run away when I pulled out of the gate, so they just stand their frozen until the gate closed completely. The look on their faces were priceless when they thought our dog was about to come after them. I admit he is very intimidating, and I've had several people passing by ask if he bits and I always tell them yes. Heck, with a dog like that... you never know!

update...
I had 2 new guys but had not worked them but for a couple weeks. Relatively new employees. But they're both like mid fifties.
So this is their first trip inside the fence. I keep all my little tools, stringballs, chalk lines, and stuff in these plastic tote boxes with lids. I use them on site for a "go to" box for everything (not my first rodeo...) extension cords rolled and taped for storage and transport, etc. So we're sorting out the gear in the back of our trucks at end of day and placing it into the trailers ready for the next go. I'm telling these 2 guys how I like the set up on the gear for transport. They're laying stuff out to place it back into the storage/transport trailers... Most of my big stuff is grinder technology made in Sweden. Grinders with multiple heads and attachments in these 2 duffels, 2 big totes w/ clean up supplies, rags, protective clothes, gloves, respirators, safety equipment. Several 1 gallon size containers of acid stain and clear sealer left over from the job. These 2 guys bust out laughing and I turn around to see this brilliantly organized, and rather expensive equipment layed out on the asphalt.. and Damien is trying his dead level best to piss on all of it... I was impressed by the sheer volume as well as accuracy. |
