Dungeon Gym
I recently found out that there is a gym just up the street from me. Stories I were told, it's small, it's shitty, the equipment is old.. just barbells and free weights.. a few cable machines. This sparked a major fire in me to find this gym since its open 24hrs. I work crazy hours so instead of hitting up planet fitness at 3am I was fucking excited to see this place!! I started training 13yrs ago in a shit hole, and trained there many years! Then I started working for Bally's and became part of the whole health spa gym yada BS. I train at a Gold's here in MD, which isnt actually that bad of place to train.. it has went mainstream with other health spa type gyms, yet. Downfall is theyre not open 24hrs. So I signed up for Planetfitness.. which fucking sucks.
Well yesterday I had off. I went looking for this gym. I found it.. in the back coner of a building. I get closer to the door, I notice there is a lock code on the door. Im like WTF.. So I went to the bail bonds shop next to it.. asked if anyone knew about it. They were able to give me a number and name.. I'm sitting in my car and call, the owner meets me up there bc I said I would like to check it out. I walked in and it was a shithole!! There was a leaky roof, holes in the wall barbells, dumbbells, a cage, sled and someother shit. It started bringing back old memories. I couldnt believe I found this goldmine of shit! We started talking and he says he only allows 15 members and there were still some openings left.. I asked how much, he told me 15 a month! all I could think of was f you plant fitness, I found another home!
The only downside is there arent any hammer strength. But I can do with out since I do not use much anyways except for an exercise for back and shoulder press on occasion. If I find myself needing it I will go to gold's and train. But it has everything I need for workouts after 10pm. I did train there yesterday, didnt feel bad in there at all, new enviorment which I can say helps a workout. It's pretty dirty in there, but organized as far a the trees go, kind of nice to see that. I do believe something bit me while I was training
