Nettle root

Everywhere its told that nettle root inhibits the conversion of testosterone to DHT and that it could prevent DHT-induced hairloss. Now I read in a post in this forum that nettle could lead to hairloss because of increased test levels. Can someone explain this? Thanks a lot.

nettle root binds to SHBG which is some stuff in your body that binds to test and inactivates it. So if you got more stuff binding to SHBG then you got more free test...thus elevated DHT.

this makes sense to me i suppose...its just my thinking out loud though (not sure if test is required to be free to convert to DHT?)/

Maybe you are thinking of saw palmetto blocking DHT?

Some people on regrowth.com forums talk about nettle for preventing hair loss. Maybe they are using the regular powder? Because I have used the 95% extract from nutraplanet a few times and I sure did lose hair. And that was while on propecia.
