Here's a copy n paste from another board. Anybody ever tried this with success?

Why the hell do so many people hold tremendous amount of water while on GH. Especially in doses of 4iu's+ i've noticed its too much water. I've tried cabergoline to reduce prolactin and nolva for estro, but there is another reason why some of us hold so much damn water. Check this article out. Maybe it makes sense. Anyone know whats up. Im thinking the water is potassium related. Maybe there is a way to stop this. Check this article out. Maybe it might make sense.

I had a discussion on another board about what causes the water retention from HGH and what can be done about it. Doctor Speer thinks that it is caused by ADH and be controlled with Clonidine. "Rager 2500" thinks the water retention is caused by Renin Angiotenisen Aldesterone and can be controlled by using captopril in combination with a mild thiazide.

This hormonal relationship is not in any medical literature. However, it must be true, because the water retension and hypertension are easily controlled by .2mg of clonidine q 12 hours (personal experience). Clonidine's primary action is retarding ADH secretion."

"Growth hormone, however, causes A.D.H. (Anti-Diuretic Hormone) to go up. ADH is a very potent coronary constrictor which also constricts veins. It is produced starting in the hypothalamus. The nerve endings of certain neurons in the hypothalamus reach into the posterior pituitary, and ADH and oxicitocin come from the posterior pituitary. ADH can go up to 20 times normal levels with fear, or anger, and stress. This can cause coronary constriction within minutes, and this can cause a massive heart attack.
Growth hormone makes ADH go up, and as a direct effect of this, water retention goes up, which causes higher blood pressure. ADH is dose dependent of GH, which is why you have to drop the dose if blood pressure goes up too high, until your circulatory system adjusts to handle it. This is the only bad side effect of an otherwise very good dose of growth hormone.
"Clonidine" is the safest high blood pressure medicine. It causes no side effects, and no impotency of any kind. It is indicated if you have high blood pressure due to ADH."

have to disagree. Clonidine DEFINATELY has side effects. one is it makes you tired, really tired not just a little.
slows you down in general. ofcourse this is dose dependant, but even 1 tab will slow you down.
I was on it for BP and it sucked, couldn't work out.
funny enough the brand of gh im on right now is giving me a very similar effect to taking clonidine.. im exausted after every shot, even low dose.

if hgh causes increased anti diuretic hormone, then shouldnt a diuretic work well enough? i use hydrochlorathyazide for bp and it helps with the water retention caused by gh forsure, and has no tiredness effect like clonidine.

interesting read though.

I am prescribed clonodine hcl for high blood pressure. It blocks aldosterone so I don't hold water from hgh.

MY ADVICE: DO NOT take clonodine! It is very addictive! Miss one pill and you may die as your b.p. will rebound and sky rocket. The withdrawals are pure hell...worse than that of opiates. I'm on it for life. Do not make this mistake!

Damn sorry to hear that John. Thanks for the warning. Is there any way you could wean yourself off, even if over an extended period of time?

It regulates my blood pressure. Nothing else worked. Better to just stay on it. I had extreme high blood pressure. My top number has gone as high as 231. Bottom number as high as 126. Now it is normal.

With pharma gh ive noticed the water retention only lasts a week or two at the most and soon dissipates where as generic gh it can last right through a six month course...

yes clonidine will turn you into a zombie. It blocks certain adrenaline receptors in the body. It's great for sleep but lasts too long and the next day you are still a wreck. Plus as JJB1 said, if you get into a hibt of being on this for a long time it can become physically addictive in the sense you will have withdrawals.

Vitamin C, and for whatever reason the Ester C brand, has worked so well for me to keep water retention down, that I am actually backing off of it a bit. I like the fact I retain water on it, it keeps me from getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. It's annoying as shit when I have to try and fall back asleep in the middle of the night.

But anyways, Vitamin C worked just awesomely, and for some reason EsterC worked best. It has other stuff in it that assists in the metabolism of Vitamin C so I figure why not?

The water retention is definitely caused by both systems - the Vasopressin(ADH) hormone and the renin angiotensin system.

By the way: What is the best way to get your own ADH going? Drink too much water. That's right. I'm not advocating getting drunk on water, but I am willing to bet a lot of you are in a state of dehydration, without even knowing it. That dehydration triggers ADH so you can try to hold on to what water is left. Start making yourself drink more water. And if you say, "But I drink 2 gallons a day!" I would say "That would be great, if you weren't taking GH at 10 ius a day and eating 400 grams of protein!"

In some instances I would never recommend this, but if you feel your fluid retention is getting pretty bad, start drinking a lot more water.

A great drug for Angiotensin system is Telmisartan. Lowered blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose. Increased anabolism. All with one stupidly cheap drug. Message me if you need to learn more about it.

ONE OTHER IMPORTANT NOTE>

Are you noticing your ankles are swollen? Do you feel beat up at the gym like you're over training but you're not really? Are you peeing a lot?

PLEASE, if your retention issues start becoming bizarre or embarrassing, please go see a doctor. This fluid retention is hard on two things - your heart, and your kidneys. We can tell if shit is going bad with the heart by at least measuring blood pressure. But with the kidneys, They could be dying and there really isn't a clear indicator to tell you something is wrong. That is until it's too late. If you start experiencing kidney pain it's because you are very far along the path of failure.

Please drop your GH dose, lower your anabolics so that you can get your hemo and rbc down and drink more fucking water. And get more potassium in your diet for christ's sake. Even if it's in pill form, although take it right after a meal - straight potassium in the tummy will burn like a mofo.
