America's Strongman Contest in Charleston, WV

I was in my office today and Phil Pfister goes to the P.T. across the hall from our offices.

Phil is helping to organize the America's Strongest Man competition to be held July 4-6 in downtown (Charleston, WV of course). They are going to block off the levy road right by the river for it, should make for a great scene and cool breeze off the water.

Thought any of you interested in the contests would like to know in case you didn't already. BTW, my admin. manager is in LOVE with him! She says he is a big ole teddy bear and an all around great guy! He is giving her 4 backstage/all access passes and said I could use one of them one day of the event, she and her boys have the others all tied up .... lol! Hopefully one of my trips down I will get to run into him.

I guess ESPN will be broadcasting and they are going to have all kinds of entertainment for children, etc, something for the whole family to do.

this contest is bullshit ... its a drug tested contest not associated with ifsa or superseries ...Theres going to be a bunch of subpar strongmen, and oneis going to get a free trip to worlds, while the real atheletes are competiing in the MSG Series against Pudzianowski or @ the real ASM in san diego the same weekend. fuck phil phister

Wow That is a very strong response, of course everyone it entitled to their own opinion, but does that make a natural bodybuilding contest any less important than a non-tested one?

but still if there the strongest "natural" then they are the best. they should be aloud to go to the worlds.

I think the issue is that one has to qualify for worlds under certain conditions in specific contests which this one doesn't meet. Should be fun to watch regardless though....
