thats kind of what i usualy do. i'll hit my openers (or 2 out of 3 of them for a full meet) 2 weeks out then on monday and tuesday the week of the meet i'll do 6-8 sets of speed bench at 35% no bands or chains on monday and 4 sets of speed squat and deadlifts at 35% on tuesday, no assistance work but some light abb work and i make sure to keep my carb and protein intake up.
And Fearnofish: how do you like that metal squat suit? i'm going to elite fts in december to train and i'm thinking of buying an Ace Pro but i want to get as many opinions on it as possible before i spend that kind of money.
