Lots of folks talk spillover when mentioning a cheat meal/day (usually carb heavy), but what does that mean? After glycogen stores are topped off, what happens to the balance? Does it turn primarily to fat which causes you to look soft or is there another or an additional mechanism at work too?
 
glycogen molecules bond to water , only the muscles and liver are filled then the remaining glycogen/water are quickly stored in extra muscular tissue including fat.
thats why its important to have water while carbing up and keep water intake high during and after cleat meals
 
Most people aren't 'depleted' or even in need of a refeed. Just because you're flat doesn't mean your glycogen is depleted. Pretty damn hard to be completely glycogen depleted.
