Do certain parts of the cow (steak) have more protein than others?

I know this may sound like a stupid question but please hear me out:

Do certain parts of the cow (steak) have more protein ounce for ounce? For example, does a 10 oz sirloin steak have more protein than a 10 oz rib eye steak?

The same question for chicken: does a breast have more protein than a wing or a thigh?
 
Read a food label. It's weight, if sirloin has less fat than ribeye it has more protein per once-RIGHT? Same can be said for all meat.
It's protein and fat. The leaner the cut the less fat -the "more" protein.

So yes if the 10oz sirloin is 8oz protein, and 2oz is fat-then yes it's got more protein than the 10oz ribeye that is 6oz protein and 4oz fat.

Yes they are different. You can go to nutritionaldata.com and see the differences and just how much.
 
first thing you need to do is look at the steak. if there are large bands of fat on the outside and the center is uniform and smoothe looking the steak is pretty lean. however it the meat is heavily marbled it is not goingto be as lean but will be verry verry tasty!

I'm not sure if he was asking if the fat content of a cut of meat diluted the amount protien for as specific weight of meat.

But maybe he was asking, does the amount of protein from the lean beef of one sections of the cow differ from another section assuming both cuts of equal weights. i.e.does the lean beef of the shoulder have more protein pound for pound than the rump.

Good observation DLStryker. That is EXACTLY what I was asking. Pound for pound, does one lean part have more protein than another lean part?
 
The rounds have the most protein by weight because they have the least fat.

Tkav is correct. Some meats are more marbled than other parts of the meat, which has a higher fat content than a lean meat.
