is posing better than cardio???

OMG, i finally get some size I like and am down in BF to where I can see striations in various (not all) body parts. I hit the gym and find a mirror to do some post exercise posing....
I sweat more during that part of my gym time than I did on the tread mill....ever!
I was pouring sweat (might be retaining water, eh? LOL!) and outta breath.
best part was my chest had a perpetual pump for 4 hours!
the most positive thing I got outta it was my symmetry is off (left arm needs to catch up...need to work on my Fapping with the left arm? :p) and my legs need to step up a bit again.
overall a great workout but the posing cannot be done every week...it took a lot outta me!
let the flaming begin!

Correct the bolded before you ever step foot on stage.
 
I think it is much better than cardio. Contest prep wise. Fundamentally you are burning energy to contract the muscle, and when contracting as hard as you can, the energy demand is higher. Walking or running propels you forward by what? muscles... These muscles expend energy. The only difference is the absorption, and rebounding of force when you hit the ground. But again, if you are contracting as hard as possible, these muscles are still, in my opinion, in a much higher energy demand than the latter mentioned.

One can also look at heart rate and see that heart rates are higher when posing all your muscles as once, as hard as you can vs. jogging or walking. Im really glad you brought this up by the way!

most definately. I plan to add this once a week as I like how I feel afterwards. awesome pump and total exhaustion. as far as cardio, I will be trying to do some pickup hockey games this winter. I also get enough snow to shovel, but not as much as up north.

So you're squeezing as hard as you can everytime you take a step? If you are, more power to you. But if you held contractions for a total of 20 min. vs. a treadmill or step mill for the same period or more I can tell you my thoughts are that the contractions will be more effective. Your body expends more energy depending on how many muscle fibers you contract (both in reparation and action).

If you take that step mill and took it down to the easiest level you would burn less energy. That's because you take less energy to move. But if you crank up the intensity, the muscles must contract harder and use more energy to fuel and repair from the process. Now take dynamic tension plus isometric contraction, while squeezing very hard the whole time, and how is the step mill much worse?
