Stimulation of collagen sythesis by the anabolic steroid Stanozlo.
Researchers: Fatangva V, Greenberg AS, University of Miami School of Medicine.
Source: J Invest Dermatol 1998 Dec;111(6):1193-7

Summary: In the report was mesured the effect of the stanozolol on cell replication and collagen synthesis (low dose 0.625-5 micrograms per ml) had no effect on fibroblest replication and cell viability but enhanced collagen synthesis in a dose-dependent maner.

Agent this shows that more is not always better.

CTGF

The same researchers noted that low dose anabolics effect primarly muscle collagen tissue with tendon being effected only at higher doses(i.e. 5 times the therapeutic dose). I think dosage plays a role in what effects are seen, be they positiv or negative.

I think that with the low dose the CTGF and TGF-beta-1 it stay in good range in the body, and helps the collagen synthesis. So that why you need to take a supplement that regulates you CTGF production when you are on high doses.
