I count kcals, carbohydrates, and protein. I try to take in roughly 1.5g/lb bw, and I weight approx 210 (therefore shooting for around 300g). My question is, should all sources be taken into consideration with this equation? I obviously consume a good amount of complete protein with each meal, but what about grams from sources like grains and nuts. Should these be figured into the 1.5g/lb or not?

Just seein how others go about counting their macros

how i do it

i only count what i call complete proteins. so, i don't count sources from fruits, grains etc. they are usually not complete proteins.

and btw, i think you should be counting fats as well. i think you only mentioned carbs and proteins.
oh, and the human body might have different energy requirements on any given day so a constant number like 300gms might be enough one day then not enough another day... so listen to your body. -JS

Thanks Johnny
I pseudo cycle my macronutrients so that on low activity days/non-lifting days my carbs are down, and i increase my fat and protein intake a bit. I am sure to get plenty of efas everyday from things such as fish oil and natty pb.

I count protein from every source I get it from.
