Horrible Cramps Post Workout

Quick Question:

For the past 3-4 weeks I keep getting these horrible cramps in the quads, upper pec, forearms extensors, and triceps within the 5 hours post workout.

What happens is if I flex the muscles in that 5~ hour post workout window the cramp up/get tense as hell and I freeze up in the worst pain for about a minute unable to move that muscle at all.

Is this a water and magnesium issue?

Thanks Guys!

ive tried a myriad of things buddy
what works for me are chewble cal tabs and a cal mag d supplement
now, if ur on any amino's or straight arginine rotocol, u cant take these together, meaning the calcium is a lactic acid buffer. i.e. buffers acids, aminos as well, so timing is an issue here. i try for this, pre wkt i eat a chewable cal, then i take the cal mag d before bed with my zma as well

hope this mumbo jumbo made sense
frk

i thought the same for the longest time, till i picked the brain of a buddy who is a phd. he broke it down simply for me, cramps are caused by lactic acid. calcium is a acid buffer. badda bing

I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you run "cramp" or "cramps" through our search engine, you'll see other options mentioned too. Everything from pickle juice to Pedialite to certain aminos have been reported to remedy cramps.

I'll add calcium to my list of stuff to try...

I had the same problem about a year ago or so. Nothing seemed to work. Bananas didn't work. Salt didn't work. Doubt calcium was the issue as i drink milk like its goin out of style. Ended up drinking TONS OF WATER and flushed my system and it kinda seemed to go away. I thought i drank enough water every day too.

Now every time i feel (or think) the cramps are comin on, i start downin the water and it seems to go away.

1,000mg Ca and 800 IU VitD tablets PWO have been working like a charm.

Thanks HUGE & JBOMB!

thats what works for me as well....

coconut water, banana, tonic water

didnt do shit

alrady take lots of magnesium, and from raisins and almonds there are tons of potassium

they all make me thirsty and no relief of cramps

i will up the dose of calcium and try to take it empty stomach,,,tahts going to be difficult cuz i take aminos empty stomach...oh well, cramps first.
