i want to publicly apologize to cosmic for taking a jab at him in one of his threads, after reading his postings i realize his seems like an intelligent and wise man, and is always positive which is very commendable! please keep sharing your wisdom with us. i always want to stay positive and do what i can to be of value to society and specially to my brothers in iron!!!

Thank you mexbeast; nothing defines character as clearly as a willingness to admit mistakes - when, in your own eyes, you feel that you have said or done something you are uncomfortable with.

I have done the same thing on various boards in the past, but I would say that my infractions were much more onerous than yours. When I was young, I was very defensive about the things I said or did - always willing to argue and defend. Now, in retrospect, I see that I was wrong so often that it weighs heavily on me.

Maturity is about owning-up to our strengths and weaknesses and being willing to apologize - or to say, "I was wrong." I can't tell you how many years it took me to reach a point where I could do those things.

You obviously have a conscience, and that's a good thing. In the long view, that is one of the defining characteristics of what it means to be "a human."
I appreciate your thoughtfulness. When I look back at the thread that I started - the one in which you made your comment - I find it hard to fault you or anyone else who took exception to it. It was ill advised and in no way reflects the person I am or my values.

This is kinda off topic but isn't sarcasm one of those things tough to pick up from other countries or languages? I can't remember if it's specific to one country or language.. I think I learned about that when learning Spanish but I can't remember for sure.

Yes, UGAthlete is right - sarcasm, well idioms are generally hard to pick up when learning a language. Just think of a lot of bodybuilding lingo that might have shot over your head when you first got into things. Getting cut? Pinning, etc.

Good sarcasm would have been like:

"Looks like you two need to get a room," or

"This site is becoming the center for love-ins,"

"I think you're finished now, you can both smoke a cigarette," or

"That was a touching moment, maybe even a groping one,"

"If you two have a boy child, would you name if after my hero - ex-President Bush?"

I would stay away from the "Fags" stuff; odds are there are plenty of alternate life style folks on this board (if statistics have any validity).

On a site where men are obsessed with their own bodies and those of other men - where they use picture of gladiators and semi-nude dudes as their avatars - well those types of references are marginally appropriate.

I mean, it's been common knowledge since the 50s, that all bodybuilders are gay.
