Side Effects Question

I got some new aromasin, seems like its g2g b/c of the sides I get that are listed with this AI, My question is one of the sides is diarhea, (sorry I know) but after i take my dose with in an hour or less for the next 2 hours I will have bad dirahea,

Just wondering, will this make it so my body does not absorb any of the AI or is is all just going down the drain litterally??

Gastrointestinal disturbance, including diarrhoea, is a possible side-effect of exemestane.

If you are getting diarrhoea as a side-effect of the exemestane then you are absorbing (at least some of) the drug. If you weren't absorbing any of the exemestane then you would get no side-effects. The quantity of exemestane you are consuming (presumably 25mg) is too small to produce diarrhoea via osmosis (i.e. attracting water into your bowel). However, you would absorb more mof the drug if you didn't experience diarrhoea.

I would advise splitting your dose and taking the two doses after meals. Exemestane does not dissolve very well in water so take your doses with meals that contain some fat.

If the diarrhoea persists for more than three days (whilst trying the above approach) then exemestane is not for you and it would be better to switch to another AI such as anastrozole.
